Study Questions

1) When we go through suffering, what are some important questions to ask? How does the Gospel bring perspective and hope in our suffering?

2) Paul urges Timothy not to be ashamed of the Gospel or of suffering for it (vs. 8). In what ways might believers face shame or fear in sharing the Gospel, and how can God’s sovereignty in salvation (as seen in vs. 9) encourage boldness in sharing the Gospel?

3) In what ways are you tempted to be ashamed of the faith you process? In what ways does Christ meet you in that weakness and provide what you need to overcome that temptation?

4) How can we encourage our children to be bold in their proclamation of the Gospel? In what ways should we encourage them to “count the cost” of following Jesus?

5) How does the community of believers in our local church bring courage in sharing the Gospel and sharing in suffering? How do we encourage one another when one of us is in a season of suffering?
