Keep the Faith: 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Redeemer Sedro Woolley

Pastor Josh preaches from 2 Timothy 4:6-8.

  1. Paul uses the imagery of a drink offering being poured out to signify that the
time had come to end his ministry. In what ways does this depiction describe
the mentality we should have regarding our own service to Christ?
  2. In verse 7, Paul uses the words “fight” and “race” to describe the Christian
life. In what ways do both of these depictions speak to the reality of living in this world as Christians? How does the local church help in fighting the fight and running the race?
  3. How do we as Christians guard our hearts against the fear of death? How
does Paul’s “eternal perspective” give us some insight on where our hearts and minds should be grounded?
  4. How often do you think about Heaven? What are the things you are most
excited about? Why is it important that we dwell on Heaven more often then we do now?
